Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the ambitious Light House Project (LHP) to be constructed in Indore through virtual medium on the first day of the new year at 11 am. Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan besides Ministers of Madhya Pradesh Government and other public representatives will also take part in the programme virtually.
Indore has been selected by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Government of India, for the construction of the Light House Project at a national level competition under the Global Housing Technology Challenge India of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
The selection of Indore, the countrys cleanest city for the implementation of the Light House Project, is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh. New techniques of building construction will get a boost in the state and construction period will also be reduced with the implementation of LHP in Indore.
As many as 1,024 residential units are to be constructed through pre-fabricated sandwich panel system under this ambitious project of Indore. This prefabricated sandwich panel system is an innovative fabrication method using wall panels with cores of light weight concrete between cement fibre boards. This sandwich panel system is being used in such a large scale construction project for the first time in Madhya Pradesh.
The Light House Project can be used as a live laboratory by various educational institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, other engineering colleges and state construction agencies during its implementation period. Once the construction period ends, information about the prefabricated sandwich panel system will be available to the students and researchers through workshops and site visits.
Indore has established new dimensions in the field of cleanliness and through the light house project, the city will also play an important role in making the country a global leader in the promotion of new construction technology.
