The State Congress has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider his decision to inaugurate the Global Investors Summit 2014 in Indore.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Arun Yadav in a letter to Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday requested to reconsider his decision of accepting Madhya Pradesh Government’s invitation to inaugurate the Global Investors Summit 2014 in Indore on October 9.

“The State Government has not made you aware with all the facts about this important event,” Yadav said.

Yadav further said, “MP Government has made ‘Earn and Young’ as its knowledge partner for the summit while this company has been black listed by Government of India.”

Yadav said that the business of this company is spread over 150 countries and has been alleged of forgery and criminal conspiracy on over five dozen occasions and is facing investigations in eleven cases in different countries. Making such fraudster company its knowledge partner is highly objectionable and violation of law, he added.

He questioned that is it appropriate that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan deliberately overlooked these facts while inviting you for the summit. Or if the facts are not overlooked than also extending invitation on the basis of half cooked information could not be termed as proper, he added.

The senior Congress leader requested the Prime Minister to refrain from the programme that is been done with a controversial company as its knowledge partner as your presence in it would lower the dignity of the esteemed office you occupy. Hence we request you to please reconsider your decision of inaugurating the summit, he added.

He also made aware the Prime Minister about the previous investor summits held in the State since 2007 that these summits organised by spending huge sum of tax payer’s hard earned money were mere get together of high officials of the State, Ministers and capitalists.
