Two plays highlighting the different phases of the society ‘Bakri’ and ‘Cricket’ were splendidly performed here on Sunday at Shaheed Bhawan Auditorium.

Both the stories are written by the renowned story writer and novelist Munshi Premchand. Directed by Parag Dubey, the plays were performed by the artists of Parag Theatre Group, Bhopal. Both the plays were presented in such a way on stage that the audiences were fixed to their seats watching them. The theatre lovers of the city were totally enthralled to watch the plays and moreover, the hardwork and efforts put in by the whole team were clearly seen in the presentation of the play.

The first play ‘Bakri’ was all about telling the audience that a person should always do his work on time and on his own. The play tells the story of two characters Chaddha and Sharma. Both the characters stayed worried as there was very limited milk supply in their houses.

Both decide to buy a cow and every alternate day the cow will stay at ones place. But, Chaddha tries to cheat Sharma by adding water in the milk, with this Sharma decides to buy a goat. But, the goat itself becomes another headache for Mr Sharma. What happens next was the most hilarious part of the story.

The next play ‘Cricket’ is all about fulfilling the untold desires. This play tells the audience that whatever may be the reason one should never run away from his dreams rather chase them and complete them to lead a satisfactory life. It is a story about a girl who aspires to become a cricketer just to fulfill her father’s desires.

After facing a big failure in his career, a cricketer commits suicide and then his daughter Simran swears to make her team win against England. But the whole story is told in a comic way as Simran is a pretty girl every person tries to impress her. But ignoring all the hurdles she moves forward towards her goal.

Both the plays were narrated very enthusiastically. The simplicity of the story made the plays even more interesting to watch. The efforts by artists were much appreciated by the audience as the performance left them enthralled.
