After the theatre-goers of the city enjoyed different genre of Hindi plays in Nandi Parv, a Bengali play Bhautik would be staged on the concluding day of the festival. The play would be presented in Bengali language on August 4 at BHEl Cultural Hall.
The play is written by a noted Bengali playwright Swamitra Basu and is directed by a renowned Bengali theatre director Somdev Sen. Dealing with some funny, some scary and some serious situations the play is a complete entertainment.” Elaborating further about the script, he said, “As the play describes the curiosities of a human being, it also deals with how a person loses his life just to recover his mistakes.”
“The motive behind staging this play is, firstly it is written by a renowned Bengali playwright and the second reason is that it has never been staged in the city till now. On July 31 it was its opening show in Hindi and now on August 4 it would be an opening show in Bengali language,” he added contently. According to the Bengali theatre director, Somdev Sen, this play highlights the curiosities hidden inside an individual and the characters are searching for the answers on the stage. This play is being staged for the Bengali theatre lovers of the city to enjoy. This would be like a treat for them, Das added.
