Gajmoksha is a tale picked up from the children’s Jataka Tales. The play was wondrously performed by the artists leaving an impact over the audience. The play follows the tale of a huge and beautiful white elephant. The play was set up in a jungle where all the animals, monkeys, deer, rabbits and others live.
They believe that the huge elephant is just like their king and called him with the name ‘Gajraja’. He used to solve the problems of the animals.
Once he befriends with a human. He helps the man ‘Gareeb Das’ to find his way back home from the jungle. But, as per his nature, Gareeb Das ditches him.
When Gareeb Das reaches his home, he tells his master that he will bring a tooth of a living elephant. His master challenges him and so Gareeb Das goes back to the jungle and ask the elephant to give him the tooth.
Hearing this, the elephant gets upset, but for the friendship’s sake, the elephant gives him the tooth.
What follows is the story of inhuman activities by the humans. The play enthralled the audience as it was performed with flawless acting giving away a beautiful message.
