Urban Administration and Development (UAD) Minister Babulal Gaur has said that construction of platform number 6 at Bhopal railway station will be completed soon.
All necessary facilities will be provided to passengers at the platform. Gaur held discussions with officers of Municipal Corporation, railways and district administration over progress of work at Bhopal railway station here on Friday. About six crore will be spent on construction of platform.
He informed that need for an additional platform at Bhopal main railway station was being felt since long in view to increasing number of passengers. Daily passengers were facing many problems.
Discussions have also been held with Railway Ministry regarding railway station's modernisation. Gaur also held discussions with railway officers regarding running Shatabdi Express from New Delhi upto Habibganj station. He informed that in the initial stage, train originating from Bhopal will be run from this platform. So far, Rs1.50 cr has been spent on construction.
