Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that planting trees should not be a ritual but a resolution. By planting trees, we save the earth and also make arrangements for our oxygen.
The Chief Minister called upon the citizens to plant saplings and also take the responsibility of taking care of them. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said this after planting saplings on World Environment Day near Raja Bhoj Airport. Voluntary organizations, social organizations, resident associations, Gayatri Parivar, Scout-Guide, NCC, NSS cadets and citizens along with the Chief Minister planted saplings. 311 saplings were planted by Miyawaki method including saplings of big trees like rosewood, amaltas, peepal, sycamore and shrubs.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that injustice has been done to Mother Earth for materialism. The weather cycle has changed as a result of indiscriminate exploitation of Mother Earth. We can improve the health of the earth by making a little change in our lifestyle and by planting trees. We have to make it a habit to plant saplings on our birthdays, marriage anniversaries, family memories and our achievements. Along with this, by taking a pledge to save electricity, water and use single-use plastic, we can also contribute to environmental protection. Chouhan said that with enthusiasm and positive thinking it is necessary to maintain continuity of work for environmental protection.
