Piplani police seized illegally transported liquor, arrested 2 accused carrying illegal liquor worth Rs 2.57 lakh and seized loading auto rickshaw near Piplani main road.
On the information loading auto rickshaw was stopped in front of Ram Mandir and nabbed two persons.
The two were identified as Ikrar Ali of Karod and Raja alias Afroz Khan of Islamigate, Shahjanabad.
When the loading vehicle was checked 20 cartons were found inside the vehicle.
In which alcohol was found and when the driver and his accomplice were asked documents they failed to provide it.
The police registered a case under section 34(2) of the Excise Act. The accused were found to after illegally transporting 20 boxes of GOA whiskey liquor.
The total cost of 180 liters of 180 ml bottles kept in liquor boxes was Rs 1.07 lakh Rs 1,07,000.
The loading vehicle used in the incident, bearing registration number MP04 LD 2448, worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, was found to be illegally transporting liquor by the accused was also seized.
