A four-day photography exhibition is being organised at Art Gallery of State Museum here from Thursday. The exhibition being commenced by the students of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal, will be on display till October 20.
Director of SPA, Ajay Khare inaugurated the exhibition. Besides, the topics were already given to the participants and keeping those topics in mind the participant had to click the photograph. The topics like architecture and urban society or landscapes, monochrome, emotions, gestures, wildlife and own perceptions were provided to the participants to work on.
While talking to The Pioneer, a student representative, said, “This exhibition is all about an expression, encompassing the nature of photography and it is our effort to encourage the students’ talent of photography.” She further said that this was the second endeavour to promote the young photographers of SPA of the college and moreover similar efforts would be held in future as well.
Photographs are a powerful medium of expression. It is an art by which one can describe hues of life. The beauty of nature, sad or happy face, loneliness, year’s old architecture, stories of kings and queens, chirping of birds and the happiness of friendship, all the feelings could be seen in the artistic perception. The photographs were a pure work done by the participant students and most of the pictures were original, where no manipulation was done. She further said, “We received around various entries not only from the students of SPA but also from the faculty members out of which we selected around 50 photographs.”
Some of the photographs could be seen in 3-D form of photography. Jain further informed that this particular subject is not included in the students’ syllabus but, it is a totally extra-curricular activity. Their work differs from the usual realm of their creativity expressing their emotions.
One could find such pieces of art dealing with the worldly things. Here one can find the good work in graphics and prints, leaving an impact over the visitor. The visitors were enthralled with the work of creativity at the exhibition.
