Performance review meet held of Corporation Bank

Published on:

A regional meeting on the bottom-up consultative process designed to generate ideas and review the performance of Corporation Bank vis-à-vis national priorities, was conducted at Mumbai Circle of the Bank on Friday, covering the entire process of the meetings held by the Zonal Heads in the Circle with all their branches, from August 8 to 10, 2019, to review the performance of the branches since 2014-15 and to discuss the issues before the banking sector and the way forward.

The Regional meet focussed on the above deliberations.

It covered ways and means to increase credit to various sectors of the economy (including, inter alia, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, MSMEs, education & export), enhance use of technology/ data analytics to bring about innovation (especially in the area of moving towards a less cash/ digital economy), as well as how to make the Bank more citizen-centric/ more responsive to the needs of senior citizens, farmers, small entrepreneurs, youth, students and women.

Performance of the zones in the Circle and alignment with national priorities was reviewed and, as a result of the consultations, a number of implementable suggestions came up for Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in general and Corporation Bank, in particular.

These suggestions and ideas have been collated for further discussions at SLBC/ State level along- with the comparative performance assessment of the branches in each region.

After the SLBC level meetings, final consultations are planned to be held at the national level to compare both intra and interbank performances and to finalise the future roadmap for PSBs taking into account the suggestions adopted for implementation across the PSBs.
