Governor Lalji Tandon while inaugurating the ‘Sandipani Auditorium’ in Raj Bhavan campus on Thursday gave detailed information about Sandipani Ashram. He said everyone got the same education without any discrimination there.

The Indian Education System was a paperless system at that time.

It was based on Shruti and Smiriti. Despite several attempts to destroy the ancient treasure of knowledge, it had been re-written.

The Governor mentioned that the ancient manuscripts in large numbers are still available. Efforts should be made for their digitization, he added.

The Governor further mentioned that the intention behind the naming of the auditorium after the Icon ofBhartiya Shiksha, Rishi Sandipani is to create inquisitiveness among the scholars towards the Indian Education System.

They should get inspiration towards its resurrection. Such an education system should be developed that provides overall education, which we used to get in ancient India Education System. He asked to

hold stage programmes based on Indian Education System before the scholars.

Tandon stated that India had renowned universities like Takshshila and Nalanda. The Awanti (Ujjain) was the major centre of education. The remains of Egyptian, Rome and Greek cultures contemporary to the Ancient Indian Culture are there but they have disappeared, while the liveliness of Indian culture still persists.

He said that Madhya Pradesh is a rich state in terms of cultural heritage. Orchha has Rajaram and Ujjain has Rishi Sandipani, from whom Shri Krishna received education.

He said that the world’s viewpoint towards existing knowledge and beliefs is changing. It is believed that the ideas that have been prevalent for centuries have some truth.

On this basis, research is also being conducted.

He said that the Chief Minister deserves congratulations for getting the auditorium constructed by removing all the hurdles.

Tandon also congratulated the Minister for General Administration Govind Singh for his outstanding work.

The Governor said that the ‘Samvidhan Diwas’ will be organized at Raj Bhavan on November 26.

He mentioned that the constitution is a master of the country. The constitution guides us when we deviate from the path.

This programme will be organised with a feeling of Guru-Pujan. Views of constitution experts will be invited in the programme.

The Judges of all the benches of High Court of the state and Jurists will take part in the programme, he added.
