Congress is a spent force. It has made a laughing stock of itself, the Government and the whole country by its corruption and huge scams. People are disillusioned with the party now,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Narendra Singh Tomar said on Sunday while speaking at Palak-Sanyojak Convention of Nagar-Gram Kendras of Sagar division.
With a view to reinforce party strength at the grassroots before the approaching assembly elections, he urged party workers to take charge of nagar-gram kendras and the booth-level units with full dedication.
“To win Mission-2013, party workers should take charge of and strengthen the nagar-gram kendras and the booth-level units with full dedication,” Tomar said.
“The idea of establishing nagar-gram kendras was mooted by Kushabhau Thakare who had said that the day party will be able to penetrate at the lowest levels of society nobody would be able to stop it from coming into power,” he said.
“That strength has been realised as BJP not only gained power at state level but also at the national level under leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” he added.
“By boosting the strength of these local level units, the party would definitely gain power in the coming assembly elections as well as the general elections in 2014,”
Tomar said.
He also extended invitation to the people there to join the two-day Palak-Sanyojak Convention to begin on May 31 in Gwalior.
Warning the party
workers to not lose sight of the goal in over-confidence, he urged them to prepare for elections with full attention.
BJP State organisation secretary Arvind Menon also addressed the convention. Party workers should reach at the booth-level and spread awareness among the people about the several welfare
programmes of the State Government.
This is an important responsibility, he added.
Senior party leaders including BJP national
secretary Sudha Mallaiyya, state vice-president Bhupendra Singh, State Minister Gopal Bhargava and others were present at the meet.
