The CBI has on Monday registered a preliminary enquiry into the death of Vijay Singh Patel, who was found dead in a room of a lodge in Kanker District of Chhattisgarh on April 28, 2015.
On the complaint of Manager of said lodge, inquest No; 34/15 was registered at Police Station — Kanker, Chhattisgarh.
Patel was arrested by STF in FIR No; 16/2013 and subsequently released on bail. This is to enquire whether the death was related to the alleged Vyapam cases or otherwise. The role attributed to him by STF, Bhopal was that of an alleged racketeer in Vyapam cases.
