Former parliamentarian Premchand Guddu has opened up a front against Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Arun Yadav, alleging that he is not active, even during the civic body polls.
In a letter to Congress general secretary Mohan Prakash, Guddu stated that the countdown for the urban bodies' election has already begun, but Yadav is still relaxed and not taking any pains to mobilise party leaders and workers. Copies of this letter have also been sent to AICC secretaries Sanjay Nirupam and Rakesh Kalia, who are camping in Bhopal for the past two days.
In the letter, Guddu further said that nominations have commenced for the local bodies elections since November 5, but the election committee has not been declared as yet. Besides, it has also not been finalised as to who would distribute the tickets and where.
"Those willing to contest election are moving here and there trying to find out the leader who would decide the ticket. In such a situation, how would the party contest polls that are just few days ahead," he said, adding that whenever he tried to contact the PCC Chief, he neither picked up the phone not called back.
Regarding this issue, when Yadav was contacted, he said that Guddu is a senior leader of the party and the issue would be solved after talking to him. On this, former leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh stated that the party is passing through crises and in such a situation the party leaders need to be united and make consensus on urban bodies' polls.
