Madhya Pradesh Congress has alleged that power cuts are going on despite Government claims that State is having surplus electricity.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesman Ravi Saxena in a statement here on Tuesday said, “The Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP Government of Madhya Pradesh is not able to supply round the clock electricity in the State despite having claims of surplus power producing state.”
Saxena further said that though the power companies of the state claim that under the Atal Jyoti scheme they are supplying round the clock electricity to both urban and rural domestic consumers but the Central Power Ministry figures punctures these claims because as per the central power ministry figures the state is doing power cuts on an average of ten hours per month. “When the claims of surplus power are made in the state at the same time over fifty per cent power lines and equipments are in thread bare condition and the power companies at the place of replacing these lines are repairing it to get work. Neither the capacity of equipments is increased nor are the maintenance and repairing works done on time,” he added.
He said that the rank of state on power cutting states is ten where on an average power cuts are made fifteen times a month. Especially the situation in the rural areas is terrible in the scorching summer
season.
