AIIMS Bhopal’s Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine has recently achieved a significant milestone by receiving NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accreditation under ISO 15189:2022 for 88 diagnostic parameters. This prestigious recognition marks a major achievement in the institute’s efforts to enhance the quality of diagnostic services and ensure top-tier patient care.
The accreditation process was spearheaded by Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, whose dedication to institutional excellence has played a crucial role in this accomplishment. Prof. Singh emphasized that the accreditation is not just a certificate, but a commitment to every patient that they will receive care based on precision, quality, and international standards. “The NABL recognition is a significant step in our journey to make AIIMS Bhopal a national leader in medical excellence,” Prof. Singh remarked.
The ISO 15189:2022 accreditation ensures that AIIMS Bhopal’s diagnostic facilities meet stringent quality, technical competence, and safety standards. This achievement guarantees reliable and accurate diagnostic results, supported by regular audits, external assessments, and technical proficiency testing. The successful accreditation reflects the department’s consistent commitment to quality and has strengthened public trust in the institution.
The success of this accomplishment is credited to the combined efforts of the Department’s quality assurance team, led by Dr. E. Jayashankar, Quality Manager, along with Deputy Quality Managers Dr. Tanya, Dr. Hemlata, Dr. Jaikumar, and Dr. Shakti. Additional contributions were made by faculty members Dr. Deepti, Dr. Ashwani, Dr. Garima, Dr. Sramana, and Dr. Ujjawal, as well as the technical team, including Neeraj, Shobha, and other dedicated staff members working across the labs. The support from the Medical Superintendent and the Finance Department, who ensured the timely processing of accreditation-related formalities, was also instrumental in securing the accreditation.
