On Wednesday, parents' outrage over school fees has come to the fore. The parents gathered outside the St Thomas School on Maxi Road and staged a sit-in. School management were closed by admissions. The parents alleged that the management was not coming forward for discussion.
Due to the Corona transition period, schools have been on leave since March. After the lockdown opens, messages are being sent by the school managers to the parents regarding the fees. Online classes were started by the school operators. Due to the message being received about the fees and the absence of the majority of the children during online studies, the parents were told not to deposit the fees for the holiday declared in the schools by the state government. The matter had reached the court and later a decision was made that parents would only have to pay tuition fees in the school.
The parents were also satisfied with this. But once again the anger of the parents has come to the fore. Parents gathered outside St. Thomas School on Wednesday and attempted to discuss management. The parents said that when the order came to collect tuition fees, then why are the school management asking for full fees.
According to the fees that he had deposited last year, the demand of fees is still being sought by the management. The school management closed the entrance as soon as the information about the parents gathered. No person associated with the management came forward to discuss with the parents. For which the parents started protesting sitting outside the school. The police reached the scene as soon as the matter was
known.The parents were adamant about discussing it with the school management. The parents said that they are ready to pay the tuition fees but the entire fees are being sought by the management. In which library, bus, maintenance have all been added.
If the children did not go to school then why pay for the bus. Why not deposit the fee in the library, what about maintenance. It is to be noted that even after the lockdown was opened, parents in some institutions demonstrated fiercely about the school fees and said that the fees should not be paid till the school opens.
