Panic prevailed in MP Nagar area after a youth was injured when a security guard fired accidentally during filling cash at an ATM of the Bank of Hyderabad in the afternoon on Friday.
According to the police, security guard arrived with the Cash Management Services fired accidentally in front of ATM booth of Bank of Hyderabad injuring one youth and damaging a car.
The security guard works for Kings Security Guard Services and has been working with the company for the past three years. In the initial investigations it has been found that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the security guard which would be investigated.
The incident occurred when the security guard was standing outside the ATM, waiting for the completion of the filling process of cash in the machine.
Additional SP Zone 2 Rajesh Bhadoria said that the incident was purely accidental as the security guards are involved in the cash management services the gun has to be kept loaded and on Friday late in the afternoon when the security guard came to deposit money at Bank of Hyderabad the gun opened fire accidentally.
In the incident a youth sustained injuries while minor damages were witnessed over a car by the splinters, he added.
The youth who sustained injury was identified as Ankur Rajput was discharged after providing treatment. He works with Annapoorna hotel situated near the ATM machine. The police have registered a case.
