A block panchayat’s chief executive officer (CEO) has been suspended for issuing letter to sarpanchs and secretaries of gram panchayats to mobilise crowd for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s ‘Jan Ashirward Yatra’.
Dhanaura Block Panchayat’s CEO Rajendra Bakhle had shot missives to sarpanchs and secretaries of gram panchayats under his jurisdiction on September 27 for bringing 150 people in vehicles from every panchayat for Chouhan’s Yatra on September 29.
He had also sent a copy each to the District Collector, the District Panchayat CEO, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue, Ghansaur Block) and the Panchayat Officer (Dhanaura). Collector Bharat Yadav said that a report was sent to the Election Commission of India in this regard. The Commissioner (Jabalpur) on Friday suspended Bakhle from the post.
