Panchasheel Nagar people fille complaint against the liquor shops

Published on:

The residents of Bhopal’s Panchasheel Nagar went to Human Rights Commission (HRC) here on Tuesday and lodged a complaint against the liquor shops. Due to these liquor shops the incidents of rape, assault and eve-teasing are on the rise, while children learn to drink at an early age which leads them astray, the women lamented.

Women were also present in the group who registered the complaint. The Commission took cognizance of the complaint and asked for a report from the Collector and Senior Superintendent of Police.

The women complained that the entire Panchasheel Nagar is tired of these liquor shops and eve-teasing has become a usual thing.

The children in this area have learned to drink at an early age and do not go to school. They sell peanuts and collect waste polythene and earn enough to drink alcohol. Their future is in utter darkness.

Complainant Suman Bai said that her 20-year-old son died due to alcoholism.
