The city art lovers are witnessing the traditional and modern art of the noted and upcoming artists at Ishan Art Gallery located at DB City Mall. The sparkling colours of the tribal art are attracting a huge crowd at the gallery. The gallery also showcases other forms art like abstract, semi abstract and figurative art forms.
Renowned artist laxmi Narayan Bhavsar also visited the gallery here on Saturday and spoke about his perspective of art to the new artists. While addressing the artists and spectators he said, “An artist should paint concerning the view point of the spectator and the social environment.” Elaborating further he said that the artist should always display his or her art works in such a way that the spectator should recognize the painter’s name if the canvas left untitled.
All the paintings have distinctive features portraying the scenes, birds, animals and human faces, geometric figures on dark and vibrant colours. The paintings have brown or black base, but most of the paintings have the colourful base. The fine lines and geometrical figures painted in red, blue and white acrylic and oil colours make them look more appealing to the eyes.
While talking to The Pioneer, organiser of the painting exhibition, Hemant Aswar, said, “Ishan Arts is an art company taken an initiative to provide a sturdy platform to the upcoming artists of the country. At present, we have an association of around 200 artists across the country and are planning to open permanent art galleries in various cities.” He also expressed his content about the response of the citizens and said, “Bhopalites are really keen about the art and they appreciate every artist’s work.”
As many as 50 artists from Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and other states have displayed a collection of 80 paintings at the gallery. Hemant further said, “This is not a permanent gallery and after concluding the exhibition here Ishan arts would move to other city and display the creations there.”
The tribes like Gond, Baiga and Bhil of Madhya Pradesh have also displayed their latest works at the gallery. The spectators could find a huge variety of art at the gallery. They are really mesmerized by the art forms being displayed there. The exhibition began here on March 8 and would conclude on Friday.
