The lights, backdrop design adorned with folk singing, the entire splendor of folk music is displayed through paintings. A painting exhibition ‘Folk Studio’ is being put up at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal, giving thrills to the art lovers of the city.
Put up by a young artist Anup Shrivastava, the entire theme of the painting exhibition focuses on Folk Music of India. The paintings beautifully define the innocence and enchantment of folk music. The exhibition began from Monday at Alliance Francaise de Bhopal’s art gallery.
Notably, Anup Shrivastava is a talented young artist who has been exploring rural life in his paintings through colours and forms. In the last two years he has painted hundreds of canvases just to be at ease with the subject he is working on. He is not interested in depicting the reality as it is but his analytical approach that forces him to find a new way of realizing the reality with a pictorial sensibility.
He is dynamic yet very silent in his works. He explores the beauty of forms and the new relationship between colour tones. Interestingly, he has also created a painting of ‘Teejan Bai’. In this painting, Anup gave tribute to the renowned folk singer Teejan Bai. He painted her in a blue sari and the red bindi on her forehead defines her beauty.
The 13-day exhibition is like a mass treat for the art lovers as well as the music lovers of the city as they witnessed creativity in abundance.
