Fungal infection is a fetal problem which is spreading worldwide swiftly. Around 1.4 million people die every year in various countries. The problem is more severe in our country. We are not even able to detect the bacteria, which causes this infection, in most of the cases.
Doctor Arunalok chakrvarti, expert in fungal infection problems, elaborated its related issues in a conference held in Chirayu Medical Collage, Bhopal on Saturday.Experts from various parts of the country were present in the conference organised by Fungal Infection Study Forum in association with ISCCM. Doctors delivered their lectures on the seriousness and remedy of disease. Main objective of the conference was to enlighten the doctors with new techniques and researches.
“We are facing greater amount of severity associated to fungal infection in Madhya Pradesh because cities like Bhopal and Indore do not have the facility of detecting bacteria. Besides, the tests are very costly. This facility should be available in maximum hospitals possible so that the bacteria can be detected and the patients can get treatment on time. The Government should look into this matter,” Dr Chakravarti elaborated.
Chairman of the conference Dr Pradeep Bhattacharya said, “Fungal infection basically occurs due to bacteria but bacteria can attack human body due to many reasons. Improper growth of children’s body, improper healing of surgical wound, problems like diabetes and blood pressure in early age, are few causes that can develop fungal infection in human body because blood pressure and diabetes affects our immune system and makes body vulnerable to infection.”
During the conference various experts delivered their lecturers on 12 different topics.
