An orientation programme on civil services, ‘let Us Know about Civil Services’ was organised at Maulana Azad Central library here on Sunday for the students to know more about the examination content and also how to appear for the civil service examination.
Organised by Maulana Azad Central library, the Civil Services Orientation Programme was organised for the students who are preparing for the civil services examination. As many as 100 students preparing for the civil services or the aspiring students were present during the orientation programme.
Notably, every year the students after high school prepare for the civil service examinations along with their regular college studies. Further, the students grab information from net which sometimes does not prove helpful for them. So the orientation programme helped them to know about the preparation of the exam.
Further, many students of the city are preparing for the civil service examinations. The students who are preparing for the exams for the first time and do not know about the pattern and syllabus of the exam, the orientation programme was basically organised for them. Notably, current affairs and its knowledge is one of the vital part of the civil services examinations. Most often students prepare current affairs accordingly and most often prepare them through self study. Moreover, it also happen that the students sometimes leave the most important and rare topics which can be asked in the examinations.
This orientation programme helped them to know more about the examination and the preparation tips were also given to them. These days examination for civil services has become a personality exam to know the appropriate candidate the examiner always examine the applicant’s personality traits. Further, the preparation for this exam is much different from other examinations, so the applicant should keep few major points in mind while preparing for civil services.
Topics like civil services as a career, various departments and their working atmosphere, the duties, rights and responsibilities of civil servants, personality of people in civil services, examination were also covered.
