Opposition all set to storm Assembly

Monsoon Session of Jharkhand Assembly starting on Friday is likely to witness huge uproar as the Opposition parties are gearing up to storm the session on various issues including, law and order, corruption in transfer-postings of Government officials just before elections, allegations and counter allegations made by the State Ministers and the Government officials etc. The ruling coalition, on the other hand, is ready to take on the Opposition with a defensive gesture.

The Opposition has also alleged that the Government has called a short session in order to avoid the questions raised by it in the House.

“We will try to corner the Government on increasing crime graph in the State, terrible condition of law roads, non-serious attitude of Government over the issue of drought, Chief Secretary and the Ministers taking on one to one over the issue of non-compliance of directions and several other issues which will be raised in the house,” said Ranchi MlA CP Singh.

“Session of only six days has been called for fulfilling the quorum so that they will not have to answer questions raised by us. This is just to ensure that there must not be a gap of more than six months between the two sessions,” added Singh.

AJSU MlAs will also be sitting together on Thursday evening to chalk out the strategy to corner the Government in the Assembly. “We will sit together with the party Chief Sudesh Kumar Mahto in order to chalk out the strategy to corner the Government in the House,” said lohardaga MlA Kamal Kishore Bhagat. The issues to be raised in the Assembly will be discussed during the meeting, added Bhagat.

The Government on the other hand is ready to tackle the Opposition. “We are all prepared for everything in the Assembly and the Government has chalked out proper plan to deal with the questions raised by the Opposition,” said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh. He, however, rejected the allegations made by the Oppositions on the Government.

JMM Spokesperson Vinod Pandey said that the Government was ready to deal with any situation arising in the House. Pandey rejected the allegation of keeping span of the session very short said, “If the given time is properly utilised by the opposition, better results are bound to come.”

To add more fuel to it, some of the rival ministers who have made up their minds to leave the party are also expected to keep temperature of the House quite high during the session. JMM MlA Simon Marandi from littipara, alongwith some other MlAs of JVM is also likely to create upheaval during this session.

“It will be proper for me to lodge complaints against JMM in the House rather than speaking it out in the public so I would prefer to put my grievances in the Assembly and then join BJP,” Marandi said.  Marandi is expected to join BJP in the next few days along with several other MlAs of different parties.
