Opp slams Govt, says Budget does not cater to common man's needs

leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh has termed the Budget as misdirected because it does not cater to the needs of the common people.

He claimed that this last Budget of the BJP’s third tenure suggests that days are numbered for the BJP in the power as people of the State are annoyed with the Government. Even after being in power for three terms, the BJP continues to compare the situation with the year 2003.

Chief Minister is proud of presenting a Budget of Rs2 lakh crore and if he is proud of this he should be proud of the fact that the state is burdened with a loan of over Rs1.5 lakh crore.

The Finance Minister presented the increase in the Budget of the Departments with great energy but development is achieved by proper utilisation of Budget and not by increasing the Budget, he said, adding that the Budget of Tribal Department is the most important but this Government failed to spend Rs2000 crore assigned of the Budget.

The Budget is increasing and at the same time debt is also increasing but still all the promises of development proved hollow.

The fiscal deficit for the year 2016-17 was 4.32 while for the year 2017-18 fiscal deficit was 3.49 and both the figures were higher as expected by the Government.

The loan which was at Rs1,37,810 crore last year, increased to Rs1.5 crore and if other loans are added it totals at Rs1.85 lakh crore.

Ajay Singh alleged that even after 14 years of BJP rule, income of farmers has not been doubled and no strategy has been devised to provide relief to them during crisis situation.
