Only verified beneficiaries to get aide under pension scheme

Published on:

Economic assistance under National Family Assistance Pension Scheme (NFAPS) will be made available to only those beneficiaries who have been verified on Samagra portal. The State Government has issued detailed directives to all district collectors, district mission leaders of Samagra and CEOs of district Panchayats who are deputy mission leaders regarding this.

It has been directed that pension should be deposited directly in accounts of only verified beneficiaries in nationalised banks. For the verified beneficiaries having accounts in post offices, rural banks and cooperative banks, pension will be drawn by drawing and disbursing officers at district level and kept in nodal bank from where it will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts along with their lists.

Directives have been given to make available pension positively by 5th day of every month. Pension schemes will be reviewed at the district level. Responsibility will be fixed for delay in payment of pension and also for preventing pension payment to dead or migrated beneficiaries.

Use of pension amounts lying idle in inactive accounts will also be ensured. Payment of pension will not be made to beneficiaries till they are verified. Opportunity of hearing will be given to beneficiaries whose pension has been discontinued and pension re-started if found eligible.
