A habitual criminal was found dead near Berkhedi Church under Jehangirabad police station area in the morning on Thursday; deceased was stabbed to death by sharp edged weapon.
Panic prevailed in Berkhedi area near Church. The deceased was identified as Rajpal Sardar.
During the investigation police have found packets of snacks which suggest that the deceased had a fight while drinking liquor and was later stabbed to death.
Police said deceased was booked for around 20 crimes in different police stations. Police were informed and based on the information a police team rushed to the spot and started investigation.
The body was having visible marks of sharp edged weapons over his neck that lead to his death while other details would be investigated in the further investigation.
The family members and friends would be questioned to reveal the reason behind the death as in the initial investigation details of any fight within past few days has not been found. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 302 of the IPC was registered.
Possibility of killing due to old enmity could not be denied as the deceased was involved in several crimes. Police have started investigation and in the further investigation the nearby installed CCTV camera footages would be searched.
Investigating Officer SI OP Meena said that Rajpal was habitual offender of Jehangirabad area and was booked for several crimes. He used to work as labour.
