One-sided punitive action on qualified AYUSH doctors is not justified,” says State spokesperson of AYUSH Medical Association Madhya Pradesh Dr Rakesh Pandey.
After the complaints of AYUSH doctors practicing medicine from other fields than their original stream, the AYUSH doctors are unsatisfied on the one-sided action being taken on them.
State spokesperson of AYUSH Medical Association Madhya Pradesh Dr Rakesh Pandey and CCIM member of Madhya Pradesh Dr Yusuf Khalil Hussaini said that any action should be taken according to the medical laws and rules.
Dr Yusuf Khalil said, “We appeal the authorities that they should take any action against the guilty keeping in view the orders of the court and the rule sheet of Registrar Ayurveda-Unani and Homeopathy Board only.”
Elaborating further, Dr Khalil said that the collector and other administrative officers are just the laymen in medical field. “Clearly they don’t know what to do exactly. The collector passes on the complaint to its SDM and the SDM passes it on to CHMO or government block medical officer and then the proceedings start.”
Dr Khalil says, “This is not correct. According to the medical rules the inspection team should include a medical representative officer of the respective stream on which the action is being taken.”
Moreover, no strict action can be taken without informing the Registrar medical board, he added.
He said that according to the petition 5640/2011 the High Court, Indore gave orders that only the medical board has the right to take action against the registered doctors and not any other organisation.
In this regard, State Homeopathy Council Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh Ayurveda, Unani and Naturopathy Medical Board have written letters to all the collectors of the state.
