leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Ajay Singh alleged on Sunday that the protest of villagers in 27 villages of Damoh and Tikamgarh have exposed Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who has proved to be hero in false growth rate data and zero in grass root realities of the State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Opposition leader said that more than one lakh villagers in the 27 villages of Damoh and Tikamgarh have started a movement against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the state for its failure in providing basic facilities to the people.

“The count down of the BJP Government in the state has begun with spread of widespread dissatisfaction among the common people of the state. The people of Bundelkhand have thrown light on the real face of the Government which boasts of being sensitive to the common people.”

“The villagers of 27 villages in the two districts were exhausted by petitioning the State Government for past 10 years for problems related to ration, land rights, wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and caste discrimination. Now they have rebelled against the Government by starting a maun satyagraha against the government,” he said. He added that the silent satyagraha is a slap on the face of BJP Government here.

“The Centre has allocated huge amount of funds to the State Government for development of Bundelkhand region. But while large parts of the funds remained unutilized, still larger amount was lost in corruption.

It should be investigated that in what kind of development rate is the state number one when the government is so unconcerned towards development,” he remarked.

Ajay Singh also alleged that the several schemes launched by the State Government including lok Sewa Guarantee Yojna, jan sunwai, samadhan online and others have completely failed to bring any change in the State.
