Jehangirabad police on Monday nabbed a miscreant under Operation All Out aimed at nabbing habitual offenders and anti-social elements.
The miscreant was identified as Shafeeq Ata (42) of Kallashah ka Ahata Jehangairbad.
The accused was booked under National Security Act (NSA) and was sent under judicial custody.
Jehangirabad police took action under NSA against the accused and presented the case in district magistrate’s court who issued orders of detention of the accused.
The accused has been booked for extortion, possession of explosives illegally, murder, attempt to murder, abetment to suicide, burglary, robbery, molestation and threatening of life. It must be mentioned here that the accused has been a part of the crime world since 1994.
In another incident,under the same drive, three miscreants were nabbed by Bajaria police on Monday.
Police said that under operation All Out, three miscreants were nabbed. The nabbed accused persons were identified as Aslam Khan (30) of Aishbagh, Nitesh Shakya (23) of Bajaria and Jagdish Chidhar (26) of Bajaria.
The three confessed that they were pickpocketing at public places as it is festive season and people visit Durga tableaux in the Durga festival.
After the preliminary investigation, police have registered a case under section 401 of the IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act. Police have also recovered sharp-edged weapons which could be used in case victim resists while pickpocketingwhich have been which has been a common phenomenon in the area for the past many months. Police said that in this regard, further investigation is on and more clues are supposed to come.
