A 40-year-old man died and another person was injured after a speeding car mowed them down while they were asleep on platform near Bharat Talkies under Mangalwara police station area in the wee hours on Friday. At around 3 in the night a speeding Toyota Innova bearing registration number MP 09 CA 0121 mowed two persons who was rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them was declared dead while the other is reportedly critical. Police said that in the accident which took place at 3 in the night proved fatal for Rakesh Yadav while the injured is yet to be identified. After the accident police were informed and ambulance 108 was informed. The body of the deceased got stuck between the tyre and chasis of the car. He was removed and was taken to hospital where he was declared dead, doctors claimed that the deceased died due to the impact of the accident. The deceased was a resident of Berkhedi and used to work as labour. The errant driver is yet to be arrested while the vehicle which got damaged after the accident was seized by the police.
