Gunga police has booked a youth for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Budhor village.The complaint was made after the victim girl got pregnant .
Police said that the minor girl who is 9-month pregnant was admitted to the civil hospital, Gunga, on Saturday afternoon after she reported illness and uneasiness. The family members lodged complaint against the accused identified as Shahrukh who went absconding after the case was registered.
In the initial investigation, police found that the girl is a resident of Budhor village. Her father had passed away a few years ago and her mother takes care by selling goods.
In the complaint, the victim stated that she used to take water from a public tap in her area where she was threatened and raped by a youth named Shahrukh. Later, the youth warned her not to tell anyone about atrocity and is she failed to do so, he would rape her sister. A few days back, the girl became pregnant and started feeling labour pains and when she was taken to hospital, pregnancy was revealed by doctors.
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and relevant sections of POCSO. The accused went absconding before police could reach him. The crime record of the accused would be investigated and his family and friends would be quizzed in the further investigation.
