On a complaint, DE against Central Jail Superintendent

A departmental inquiry was started after a complaint was lodged with the EOW (Economic Offenses Wing) against Bhopal Central Jail Superintendent Rakesh Bhangre. This complaint was made by his own warder Deepesh Ingle on December 23, 2023. In which he had made allegations of corruption in the milk and fodder of the jail cow shed.

It was also alleged that many goods were being sent out illegally from the prison factory and warehouse. For this, the CCTV footage installed in the jail is also tampered. Jail DIG Sanjay Pandey is investigating the matter.

Among the allegations made by Ingle corruption is being done in milk and fodder from cow sheds, many prison materials are sent out illegally, CCTV footage is manipulated while doing wrong doings in prison.

He also alleged that a prisoner stole the keys from the jail. But, the jail administration came to know about the theft of the key only after the arrest of the prisoner.

The jail staff is harassed with the help of CCTV cameras. Despite the rule of changing duty every month, the duty of sentinels Ishwar Rai and Anil Singh was not changed who are deployed to check belongings and frisk at the jail gate.

Sentinel Ram Manohar Bhardwaj clicked photographs of fellow sentrie to create pressure.

Bhopal Central Jail Superintendent Rakesh Bhangre said that the guard Deepesh Ingle is accustomed to complaints. Once he vandalized a jail officer's car. Which I investigated, and punished. After this prisoner Nadeem Khan had escaped. He was in his custody. But, he was on attachment in Bhopal Central Jail. His original posting was in Bareilly Jail. In such a situation, I had written a letter to the Hoshangabad Jail Superintendent to take action against him. It is for these reasons that he has filed a complaint against me. All the allegations of corruption against me are baseless. The reality is that earlier fodder for the cow shed in the jail was purchased at the rate of Rs 7 per kg. Now this fodder is purchased at the rate of Rs 5.85 per kg.
