A 78-year old man was mowed down by a speeding scooter near Rewa Kunj under Kolar police station area on Thursday.
According to the police an old aged man was hit by a speeding scooter and escaped the spot. The injured was rushed to Narmada hospital where he was died during treatment.
The deceased was identified as Kripa Narayan Khare, a resident of Fine Enclave in Kolar. Police were informed and on the receipt a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
Investigating Officer ASI GB Patel said that the scooter bearing registration number MP04-SB-2979 hit the deceased near Rewa Kunj in the evening on Thursday and escaped the spot. Based on the registration number of the vehicle search has been started and the errant driver would be nabbed soon.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man who sustained burn injuries on February 21 died while undergoing treatment on Friday; deceased died accidentally or it was an accident is suspicious and would be investigated claimed the police.
According to police the deceased Kanhaiyalal died while undergoing treatment at burns ward of Hamidia hospital.
Investigating Officer Ml Parthe said that the deceased sustained burn injuries on February 21 and was rushed to Hamidia hospital. He sustained 70 percent burns and his condition was critical when he was admitted at the hospital. His conditions further deteriorated and he succumbed to injuries on Friday.
Wife of deceased told the police that the deceased was set ablaze after a chimney fell over him. In the further investigation the death was a suicide or it was accidental would be investigated, he added.
The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
