State Congress president Kantilal Bhuria on Tuesday announced in a public meeting in the Nimarh region of the State that if voted to power the Congress Government would waive off the old loans of the farmers.
Congress sources here in the State capital also claimed that the party’s Parivartan Yatra is drawing huge response and large crowds are participating in it despite scorching heat conditions. The Yatra has been started from Monday by the Congress with the motive to expose shortcomings of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government.
On the second day of the Yatra, Bhuria, leader of opposition in the Madhya Pradesh assembly Ajay Singh, local MPs Arun Yadav and Vijay laxmi Sadho jointly addressed public meetings.
Earlier in the day, before beginning the Yatra the leaders visited famous Omkareshwar temple and took blessings of lord Shiva.
Bhuria, addressing a crowded public meeting in Sanawad said, “If voted to power in the coming assembly elections, the Congress government would waive off all the old loans of the farmers besides the fake electricity bills slapped on the farmers would also be waived off.”
Bhuria further said that the central government has provided billions of rupees to the BJP government for the development of the state but the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his ministers have used that public money for their own development.
The BJP leaders by taking contracts of crores have become millionaires making commoners poverty stricken. Farmers are committing suicides but the ministers are not concerned for them. Indeed the BJP ministers have nothing to do with the plight of the people, he added.
He said that the corruption done by the BJP personals during the past decade has started showing up from their changed lavishing life style. Those who were running puncture repairing shops a few years back are playing in crores, he added.
