Several party office-bearers have been denied passes to meet party vice president Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the State Congress headquarters. AICC general secretary and State in-charge BK Hariprasad expressed his inability to provided passes to the office-bearers so that they can meet him.
Expressing his helplessness Hariprasad said that he is unable to help several party office-bearers. Dejected by the failure to obtain the passes, few of the office-bearers have intimated this to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi by sending fax messages, sources said.
The party bearers who were not provided with invitation cards or passes created ruckus at the state party headquarters and asked as why they are not being provided with cards despite having submitted their photographs two days ago.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has already instructed that the delegates of State Congress Committee would be allowed to attend the meeting. These instructions will restrain those party office-bearers who are not delegates.
Hariprasad was the city on a visit to review the arrangements made for Rahul Gandhi's visit. He reached Mohankheda on Monday morning and returned with state Congress president Kantilal Bhuria to the State capital where he visited Manas Bhavan and Ravindra Bhavan to inspect the arrangements. A team of SPG accompanied Hariprasad during his visit to check the security arrangements.
