Raising the social evils of the society, the city youngsters took an extraordinarily creative initiative here on Wednesday.
The city youngsters along with Citizens Action Network (CAN) organized a ‘Nukkad Marathon’ in various areas of the city.
The nukkad marathon was a huge collage of street plays staged on Wednesday in different areas to spread awareness among the people.
The Nukkad Marathon was organized as a wakeup call to various social issues like dowry, domestic violence, female infanticide, child marriage and many more.
One of the volunteers Mohsin Khan said, “This Nukkad Marathon was organized with a purpose. We have raised issues which are prevailing in the society and they are no doubt deepening their roots among people. We took an initiative to aware people about those issues which are already known to them but they never react against them.”
Elaborating further he said, “If these issues will be eradicated from the society then we people as society will grow more.”
The Nukkad Marathon began here from Vishal Mega Mart, MP Nagar at 1 pm and concluded at IIFM at 9 pm.
Then the marathon from Vishal Mega Mart moved to various areas including Milan Sweets, Habibganj Naaka, Vyanjan Sweets, 7 no stop, 10 no. stop, Mayur Park, Jehangirabad, Iqbal Maidan, Idgah Hills, lalghati Square, Boat Club, New Market, Jawahar Chowk Platinum Plaza, Nehru Nagar and then finally IIFM.
The youngsters while raising all the social issues gave a different message with each play and were well received by the Bhopalites.
