In the state, rights of students are infringed by BJP government and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, alleged State Spokesperson of NSUI Vivek Tripathi while speaking with the media persons on Thursday.

He alleged that demand by students and student union for election through direct system has been raised for long and last year on September 21 minister for higher education declared election through direct system but even after the declaration was made nothing was done even after one year.

The new academic session started but still nothing official orders have been issued regarding the elections and when professors and principal have been asked they are unable to provide satisfactory answers. The same is the situation of senior officials.

Government and officials have little concern regarding the issue and for the few days a news of conducting the elections in the first week of October has surfaced and this information is without official confirmation and is only an estimation. It should be noted that student union elections is a long process which is not taken seriously by the government.

In MP, there are scores of students studying in  16 government universities, 24 private universities, 457 government colleges, 76 autonomous colleges and 839 private colleges in the state in these medical colleges are not included. With such huge number of institutions is it possible to conduct fair elections within next 25 days.
