NS Tomar praises Atal tenure

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President Narendra Singh Tomar praised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee characterising his Prime Ministerial term as ‘golden age’ of the country.

“After coming into power, instead of worrying about stability of his Government, Vajpayee’s foremost concern was to strengthen the security of India. By successfully conducting nuclear tests he enhanced the stature of India,” Tomar said addressing the inaugural meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state executive here on Tuesday.

“The country had many Governments after independence, but the credit for conducting nuclear tests at Pokharan goes to Vajpayee government because it had determination and was committed to a principle,” Tomar claimed.

Targeting the Congress on this occasion, Tomar said that it has never attempted to achieve such a stature for the country as the BJP. “The reason behind this is that while BJP is firmly attached to certain principles, the Congress is miles away from principles, determination and commitment. This is the reason why UPA has completely failed in economic policies despite an economist Prime Minister,” he said.

He urged the BJYM executive members to learn and imbibe the values of sacrifice and selfless service from the luminaries like Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Kushabhau Thakre and Rajmata Scindia who had laid the foundations of BJP and strengthened it.

“The political scenario has become very complicated. The political parties have eroded the faith of common people by their uninhibited lust for power. BJP is the only party which has shown commitment, determination and principled stand with the sole objective of raising the country and society to heights of glory. The truth is that BJP does not want to gain power, influence, status or money through politics. Our only objective is to bring positive social, economic and political changes in the country for which many generations of the party have dedicated their lives,” Tomar said.
