Commenting on the raging debate over mob lynching incidents, senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar here on Wednesday said that not allowing Ram temple to be built is an open mob lynching of democracy and secularism.
Talking to the media under the banner of Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch in Bhopal, Kumar on being asked to share his thoughts on mob lynching, he said that there are five to six types of conspiracies in the ocuntry.
One of them, according to Kumar, is lynching of religious tolerance. “The 130 crore population of the country offers respects to Mecca-Medina, Vatican, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Swarna Mandir,” he added.
Par karodon logon ki bhawnayen ram janmbhumi mandir me hain, par chief justice ne usko delay kar diya aur janta uska Mazak kar diya (At the same time sentiments of crores of people lie with the Ram Janmbhumi,” said Kumar claiming the Chief Justice delayed verdict on the same and public made fun of it.)
“Not doing justice in this matter is a blatant and open mob lynching of secularism and democracy,” alleged the senior RSS functionary.
Shifting to the sensitive matter of cows, Kumar said several other animals are butchered but there is a unique faith towards cows. He went on to claim that 1857 revolution even emerged out of cow slaughter and cow fat. “Had these sensitive emotions weren’t there, we would still have been slaves of the British,” he claimed.
“There was no RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP in those times,” said Kuamr claiming that sentiments attached to cows are traditional old feelings of the country. “When you dishonour this public sentiment, you tend to disrespect the 1857 revolution and also disrespect lakhs of sacrifices made for the nation.”
Saying that killings should not continue over this but added that sentiments can’t be continued to be dented also. “Calling the anguish generated out of disrespect to a particular thing is anti-constitutional, anti-democratic, anti-judiciary and anti-humanity,” claimed the visiting RSS functionary.
Backing a law to punish all kinds of lynching incidents, Kumar advised all to avoid calling a particular incident related to a thing as lynching. Among other kind of lynching variants –Kumar listed political killings in West Bengal and Kerala, anti-national ‘tukde tukde’ slogans in universities and massacre and displacement of pandits in Kashmir.
