'No record of those visiting Tribal museum'

Tribal Museum that was established with an objective to connect itself with a large section of society (visitors), has no record of visitors there. It was claimed that the museum is a centre of study for research scholars and that too without any records.

Public Relation Officer of the Tribal Museum Ashok Sharma told ‘The Pioneer’ that around 7,000 to 12,000 people visit the museum per month, but he claimed that he has no records of those visiting the museum. Moreover, Sharma claimed that he has no records of the foreign tourists visiting the place. He told that the museum was established keeping in view the study point of view. Students from different universities reach there for the purpose of research and around 15 researches have been made on the study of Tribal Museum till now. However, when asked whether how many research scholars from which universities have completed their researches from the museum, he declined to give details saying that the museum does not maintain any record regarding figures.

Tribal Museum showcases the life of tribal community of India. It is a place which conserves the Indian tradition and culture in the hearts of people.

Sharma stated that the Museum is not a tourist place but a living gallery to make people aware of the tradition in India which is losing its presence in modern society. As globalization is accepting western culture India is leaving behind the rituals followed traditionally. Museum is thus the place which can relate us to our culture.

Sharma also said that the team at the Museum is especially working to make people aware and inspire to relive the traditions and save it from the way to its end. The youth is the holder of tomorrow and if they live the culture, then only they will take it for tomorrow and so people there entertain visitors who are enthusiastic and curious to learn about our culture. As the place is to make people hold the threads of dying culture and sew it again, so the team works hard and also send invitations to the schools in the city for a visit.
