No one supported me even after all the allegations leveled against me were found incorrect. Had the people of the country and team members supported me, then perhaps I would have made comeback in the Indian cricket team,” said former Team India member S Sreesanth.
Sreesanth, who was here to participate in a private function was talking to the media persons on Saturday. “Pakistan’s cricketer Mohammed Amir was implicated in fixing charges and he even undergone punishment for that despite that he is returning to his national side because the people of that country and team supported him, but nothing of sort happened with me,” Sreesanth said.
Sreesanth without naming the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that despite getting clear from all the charges leveled against me I was not taken back in the team. Though, there was no evidence against me neither I was accused in the fixing case, he added.
Notably, Sreesanth was alleged of spot fixing during IPl 6 but despite his name was cleared from all the charges the BCCI did not revoked the ban on him.
A Delhi court had discharged all the three cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan – in connection with the 2013 IPl spot-fixing case in that Delhi Police had submitted a charge sheet of 6000 pages in that 42 persons were made accused. All the three cricketers named in the charge sheet were associated with the Rajasthan Royals team.
