The state government will no longer enact a law to control online games in Madhya Pradesh. The draft of the Bill prepared by the Home Department has been returned by the Committee of Senior Secretaries headed by Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains. Actually, the Central Government has told in the High Court Jabalpur that it is making a law for this. In view of this, the state government has pulled back its efforts.

A task force had been formed under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Home Rajesh Rajora, which will study all aspects and prepare a report. In the draft, the Home Department had proposed to bring under the purview of this law all those sports in which money is invested.

In view of the incidents happening due to online games, the government had decided to enact a law to control it. The Home Department had made preparations to present the bill in the winter session of the Vidhansabha to be held from December 19. Studied and drafted the laws of the states of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka etc. After the Tamil Nadu law was repealed, the department only included those games in which money is invested. Also, it was proposed to bring those who advertise these games under the purview of the law.

When this draft was placed before the Senior Secretaries Committee headed by the Chief Secretary for consideration, the Chief Secretary returned it saying that when the Central Government is making the law, then we do not need to make a separate law.

First the preparations of the center should be looked into and a task force should be constituted which would study all the aspects and prepare a report.

After the committee returned the proposal, it became clear that now the government will not bring a new law in place of the old gambling related act. On the other hand, a task force has been constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Home. In this, officers of the Law Department and Police Headquarters have been included.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajora says that it is a common complaint that children play games on mobile.

The effect of this on physical and mental health will be studied. For this, cooperation of other departments including school education, women and child development, higher education, health can be taken.
