No intention to join BJP: Ramdev

Ruling out his association with any political outfit, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Monday clarified that he did not intend to join the BJP or anyone either even in future.

While talking to media persons here, he said, “I have never been part of any political party till now and will not join such outfits any time.” He further said that there can be no comparison between Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Ramdev stated that one had entered politics because of his family while the other had worked the hard way to earn all that was his due. Both the leaders have been holding major rallies of their respective parties in the run-up to five Assembly elections and then lok Sabha polls.

He also claimed that the Congress will lose the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and that its strength after the next lok Sabha polls would come down to less than 100 seats. During his interaction with media persons, he also criticised Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh.

lambasting the Gandhi dynasty, Ramdev stated that Rahul Gandhi would soon fulfil the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi of abolishing Congress party. He said, “Sonia remains sick and Rahul does not have leadership abilities.”

He was all praise for BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. To a query regarding rampart corruption in Madhya Pradesh, Ramdev stated that this filth is almost everywhere and it needed to be cleaned; BJP’s top leadership was committed towards cleaning it, he added.

Justifying his actions, Ramdev said that being a sanyasi, he was following his rajdharma. He also claimed that he did not campaign in favour of the BJP. Regarding relief to his brother Rambharat from the High Court, Ramdev stated that to malign his image, the Congress had falsely implicated his brother in an abduction case.
