Despite many efforts by the District Admin and Health Officials, the situation in the JAH Group of hospitals continues to be appalling.
The lack of up-to-date infrastructure, proper management and dedicated staff continue to be challenges that could end up becoming a calamity, aggravating the suffering of hundreds of patients that throng the hospital from every nook and corner of the Division every day. Reliable health care and proper treatment are still illusions in this hospital.
The patients, some of them in critical conditions are forced to stand in the queue for hours to get an appointment with the concerned doctor. Patients waiting for hours to get an admit card or consult the doctor is a regular sight at this prestigious hospital. It is learnt that many patients return without getting an appointment with the doctor. Divisional Commissioner BM Sharma had recently visited this hospital and had expressed displeasure at the long queues of patients. In spite of his strict instructions to make arrangement for more doctors and medical staff at the OPDs, the services rendered continue to be inadequate in terms of quantity and quality.
The JAH Group of Hospitals is the largest hospital group in the Gwalior Chambal Division, but the authorities are not discharging their duties properly. Hundreds of patients are denied proper medical treatment due to the negligence of attending doctors and nursing staff.
Talking to media persons BM Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner said that efforts are on to improve the condition at the hospital. He added that very soon a set of policy remedies will be developed to put the health care system at JAH on sound footing.
