No groupism in Congress: Diggy

Published on:

Congress general secretary and former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh said that contrary to rumours there is no groupism in the party. All the leaders are united and will together defeat the BJP in the forthcoming State Assembly election.

Talking with media persons, Digvijay said the State government was busy claiming all the Central schemes as its own. The Rajeev Gandhi rural electrification scheme is a Central scheme, but the State government has renamed it as Atal Jyoti and is claiming that it is a State scheme.

About leader of Opposition in lok Sabha and MP from Vidisha, Sushma Swaraj, he said she spoke a lot on rapes in Delhi, but kept mum whenever such incidents took place in the State. He added that the State government had purchased electricity worth `19,000 crore without tenders.

Singh said that RSS and BJP leaders were resting in their homes while agents had become leaders and were looting government money. There is an atmosphere of corruption all around. Officers are being posted through agents at a premium. The BJP workers have prepared thousands of fake ration cards. To a query, Singh said the people of Madhya Pradesh were angry with the State government due to corruption and would give a befitting reply to the saffron party in the coming Assembly elections.
