Society for Plant Research, Uttar Pradesh inducted Nita Khandekar, Director, ICAR-Indian Soybean Research Institute, Indore as honorary fellow - 2022 at a function organised at Department of Botany, University of Delhi on August 25, 2022. She along with Dr Emiliano Maletta, Chief Executive Officer of Bioenergy Crops Limited, London; Prof. Manjit Singh Kang, Adjunct professor of Kansas State University, Manhattan and Ex-VC, PAU, Ludhiana; Prof. R. R. Hanchinal, Ex-VC, UAS, Dharwad & Ex-chairman, PPV & FRA; Prof. SurapaneniKoteswara Rao, VC, RVSKVV, Gwalior, and Prof. Ramaswamy Nanna, Department of Biotechnology, Kakatiya University, Warangal; were the other world renowned recipients.
Since its establishment in 1988, the executive council for the first timeinitiated the fellowship program to induct fellows to work for the welfare of the society. The society appreciatedthe contribution and efforts made by Khandekar in research and Extension.
Khandekar expressed her deep sense of gratitude for bestowing the honour and promised her allegiance for the promotion of science and the society in particular.
All the recipients were presented with a citation and a plaque.
