Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesman Vijay Sonkar Shastri has accused the Centre of violating the federal spirit of the constitution by misuse of National Investigation Agency (NIA).
“The recent bomb explosion in Bangalore is result of the Centre’s nonresponsive attitude towards the States. The NIA is being constantly misused by the Centre. By transferring the investigation of the Italian marines’ case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from NIA in order to save the marines, the Centre has put into question the credibility of NIA,” Sonkar said in a statement here on Sunday.
Predicting that the BJP led NDA would win the next general elections in 2014 Sonkar said that the party is ready for the elections.
“The way prices have risen and corruption has increased in the regime of Congress-led UPA due to the wrong policies of the government, common people have become disenchanted from the Congress. The people are now ready for a change and BJP would provide the alternative,” Sonkar said.
Targeting the Congress for indulging in communal politics in the name of secularism, Sonkar said that communal riots have been a regular feature of Congress-led governments in the States.
“Before pointing fingers towards others, the Congress should first answer why it does not speak anything about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi in which more than 9500 people died.,” he asked.
Referring to the gas disaster in Bhopal, Sonkar said that more than 25,000 people were killed and thousands others were impaired. “Yet, instead of catching the culprit and putting him behind the bars, the Congress facilitated his departure from Bhopal,” he said, adding that BJP governments’ have presented a model of economic growth and development in different State’s of the country. The model of growth and agricultural development that has been shown by Madhya Pradesh is unique in the whole world.
