Economic assistance under National Family Assistance Pension Scheme will now be made available through Samagra portal. This amount will be deposited directly in savings bank accounts through treasury system.
Under National Family Assistance Pension Scheme, Rs 20,000 lump sum assistance is provided to legal heir in consequence to death of a earning member of BPl family.
It is provisioned to sanction this assistance amount within 30 days of receipt of application. Janpad Panchayat CEO has been made competent officer for this in rural areas and Commissioner Municipal Corporation/Chief Municipal Officer of Municipal Council.
Till date, payment of assistance amount was made through cheque to the bereaved family which causes delay. Now, verification of National Family Assistance Pension Scheme will be done quickly through their details available on Samagra portal.
Under the new process, verification of information pertaining to concerning beneficiaries on Samagra portal for payment of assistance amount in new cases sanctioned with effect from October 2013.
On receipt of application, Samagra ID will be provided to affected family and the deceased by concerning department. Application must bear applicant’s Aadhar number, savings bank account number and mobile number. In the process for assistance amount, first of all the deceased person will be declared dead on Samagra portal.
Following it, assistance amount will be made available through Samagra portal. The application will be available online on the portal.
Directives have been given that after completion of process for verification and sanction, the first bill should be sent to treasury between first and 25th of every month and the second bill between 21st of current month and 6th of next month.
Now, process has started to sanction cases as on December 21, 2013 through Samagra portal and deposit assistance amounts in concerning families’ bank accounts.Apart from assistance amount under National Family Pension Scheme, beneficiaries will also be given benefit of Janshree insurance scheme.If applicant is widow of deceased person, she will also be given benefit under Widow Pension Scheme.
